Janitor

SUMMARY:

The janitor will provide cleaning services to the facility in order to maintain a safe, neat, and professional work environment.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Disinfect and dust surfaces and fixtures

• Clean floors and carpets

• Clean and maintain stockage in restrooms, shower rooms, and locker rooms

• Clean walls

• Empty wastebaskets

• Clean windows and glass

• Clean outside hard surface areas

• Police inside and outside areas of trash

• Assist with snow and ice removal

• Dust and wash blinds and coverings

• Respond to custodial work orders according to their priority

• Practice green cleaning techniques

• Adhere to local, state, and federal regulations regarding cleaning solutions and disposal

• Perform other related duties as assigned by management

QUALIFICATIONS:

• No prior experience or training required, but preferred

• Must submit to and receive a favorable suitability determination from the Office of Personnel Management for unescorted access to facilities

• Must submit to and receive a favorable background criminal history check by name and date of birth from State of Residence

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Continually required to stand

• Continually required to walk

• Continually required to utilize hand and finger dexterity

• Continually required to climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel or crawl

• Frequently required to talk or hear

• Frequent exposure to wet and/or humid conditions (non-weather)

• Occasional work near moving mechanical parts

• Occasional work around fumes, airborne particles, or toxic chemicals

• Frequent exposure to outside weather conditions

• While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually quiet

• The employee must occasionally lift and/or move 25 pounds
