Model and Simulation Specialist/Secret Clearance

Summary:

This position is focused on providing modeling and simulation (M&S) support services at Joint Base San Antonio-Fort Sam Houston, Texas in support of the Medical Capabilities Development Integration Directorate (MED CDID), Futures and Concept Center (FCC). The contractor will provide diverse M&S subject-matter expertise in support of operational and organizational (O&O) concept design, Army capability requirements identification (formations, functions, science, and technology), and future study plans (experimentation) to meet Army modernization objectives and other responsibilities.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct the adaptation, modification, and employment of constructive (human-in-the-loop) M&S software tools such as One Semi-Automated Forces (OneSAF), or comparable military entity-level simulation systems used to support Army experimentation and analysis.
  • Leverage Army-developed, proprietary, and open-source M&S tools (and combinations thereof) to simulate the Army Health System at varying echelons and within varying conceptual frameworks.
  • Conduct the scenario database development and runtime administration of M&S tools in support of simulation-driven experiments such as Unified Challenge, Project Convergence, DIVx, and other MED CDID-internal experimentation venues.
  • Support federated constructive simulation experiments (BLCSE) involving Distributed Interactive Simulation (DIS), High Level Architecture (HLA), and/or Bi-Frost-compliant simulation tools.
  • Configure entity-level simulation tools to stimulate Mission-Command systems, Army Medical management systems and other relevant information systems forming a given experimentation C2 architecture.
  • Support experimentation venues across Army warfighting functions and cross-functional teams where medical M&S equities are represented, requiring either on-site or distributed participation (BLCSE).
  • Participate in M&S technical and Experiment project-based working groups within MED CDID, and across the Army Experimentation community-of-practice (BLCSE).

Qualifications:

  • The individual selected must have a strong mix of the following education, experience, qualifications, skills:
  • Bachelor’s or master’s Degree - in Modeling and Simulation, Operations Research/Systems Analysis, Mathematics, Engineering, Information Systems Management, Computer Science or Business Administration.
  • Technical proficiency employing constructive simulation software tools such as OneSAF and JDLM in both standalone and federated environments.
  • Experience leveraging U.S. Army decision support systems within the medical and sustainment warfighting functional areas for both Army training and experimentation domains.
  • Four (4) years of experience working in U.S. Army institutions focused on strategic, operational or tactical-level force modernization.
  • Clear and successful record of experience working in high-performing/mission-oriented organizations reliant upon the implementation of modeling and simulation.
  • Experience with or exposure to Army experimentation, capability development, or AFC-FCC Battle Labs is highly desired.
