Biomedical Equipment Technician III/ECME Maintenance

POSITION SUMMARY

Biomedical Equipment Technician III / ECME Maintenance for the Scott PMI Center. This role manages BMET workload, quality, work-order control, calibration, diagnosis, repair, and maintenance for a large inventory of medical, environmental, and general-support equipment supporting worldwide patient movement. Location for this work is Scott AFB, IL.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assign BMET workload, monitor productivity, balance preventive/corrective maintenance priorities, and provide hands-on technical support.
  • Review DMLSS work orders and maintenance records for completeness, accuracy, inspection/calibration documentation, parts status, and timely closure.
  • Inspect, calibrate, diagnose, repair, and maintain ventilators, infusion pumps, monitors, defibrillators, aspirators, oxygen systems, generators, environmental control units, and related equipment.
  • Coordinate OEM/vendor service, onsite calibration, test-equipment schedules, repair parts, technical literature, and equipment software updates.
  • Maintain PMI-ATS/DMLSS data integrity, preventive-maintenance schedules, quality metrics, and readiness reporting in accordance with AFMAN 41-209 and AFMAN 41-216.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Seven or more years of biomedical/medical equipment maintenance experience, including lead or supervisory responsibility in a hospital, military, warehouse, or readiness environment.
  • Associate degree or military/technical-school training in biomedical equipment technology, electronics, engineering technology, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Advanced hands-on ability to inspect, calibrate, troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair a broad range of medical and support equipment.
  • Experience using DMLSS or a comparable CMMS for work orders, preventive maintenance, inventory, and quality review.
  • Current BLS certification or ability to obtain it before contract start.
  • Current Tier 3 investigation with Secret eligibility and enrollment in Continuous Vetting; ability to obtain and maintain interim or final Secret access, CAC, system access, and required Government training.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Direct USAF PMI Center, ECME, patient movement, DMLSS, PMI-ATS, or AFMAN 41-209/41-216 experience.
  • CBET, CHTM, OEM training, radiographic/imaging training, CompTIA A+, or relevant test-equipment/calibration credentials.
  • Experience leading a team supporting 20,000 or more assets or comparably high-volume maintenance operations.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND CONDITIONS

  • Full-time, onsite position at the stated PMI Center during local Government core hours; Task 2 telework is not authorized because the work requires physical access to equipment and warehouse operations.
  • Work may include standing, bending, lifting and moving equipment, warehouse activities, packing and unpacking, equipment cleaning, use of hand and test tools, and operation near material-handling equipment.
  • The role may require short-notice schedule changes, mission-essential reporting, and CONUS/OCONUS travel. Overseas positions require satisfaction of applicable host-nation, relocation, and SOFA eligibility requirements.
  • This function is designated mission essential and may require reporting during weather emergencies, restricted-access periods, continuity events, or other mission-driven conditions.

Salary Range: $44 - $47
